12 Brand new Album Reviews for May 31st, 2024 (Out Today & What I Missed)
This was a great show. The Mantle - please do more shows and a tour - everyone needs to see how amazing you all are. I love your vibe and can’t wait for the album release. I love how you all compliment each other so well . ❤
Been listening to Metal Gods for about five days and of course they totally delivered. Guitar riffs are so catchy, fantactic shredding solos, rhythm section is so tight and the vocal are incredible. Production makes this album jump right out of your speakers. Insane is one of my favorite tracks too, and man do I love the riffs on Fighting in the Night. Very Saxon/Priest with a little heavier modern sound. I don’t consider Dream Evil Power Metal, they may do 1 song pet album that you could classify as power metal, but I totally agree with you , their just straight up a Classic Heavy Band. Love your reviews! 🤘😎
Thsnk you very much. I'm glad you enjoy them. And yes, another Dream Evil delivered another classic.
Wow This is amazing!’ Congratulations Max and band
Yeah it's a brilliant album but this is a bullshit review. Probably Ai. Mike Semesky does vocals on this, maybe Chris is on backing vocals somewhere? I don't really know. He was on their first album.
I'm not AI. If I made a mistake, fine, but I'm not fake. Every review and response I saw for the album had that information. I apologize to the band for any misinformation.
FUCK YEAH
You know which I'm wild about 👍
@@drippingdead11 it gets better on every listen.
Nine years and no comments, WTF. Nice interview mate, it's always good to hear Gregor not hold back with the truth lol PL's cover of Missing by Everything But The Girl was a nice surprise when I first heard it. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad you found this and commented. I feel the same way with everything you've said. Thanks for checking it out.
There are AI videos of James LaBrie singing Andre Matos-era Angra songs. Scary..I can't...I just can't.
I miss so much new music. Thanks for the update. Lots of stuff to check out here.
Every Friday, unless otherwise noted. I'm glad I can help.
There are several here that I'm going to check out. Thank you, as always! :)
I'm glad you're finding some stuff to check out.
this album just blow my mind, cheers from Brazil.
I do want to see Deadpool & Wolverine, although I never saw Logan.
You don't need to. Logan was a different cannon at the time.
This band is what the void sounds like. Truly dark stuff.
Easily one of the darkest bands I've heard in a ong time.
This channel needs more views!
Fully agreed!
Good reviews ❤
Thank you, I appreciate that.
@@HeavyDebriefings House of the black Geminus is maybe the cleanest, well played but proper black albums I've ever heard. Without this review, I might have never heard this band. Now I have to check out more bands from this vid..
@@mrmaldoon8362 I've been doing this series weekly since January with 274 albums covered so far this year. I hope you'll find some more stuff to dig as well.
@@HeavyDebriefingsI'll watch. You have a good ear and a good way of describing what you hear :)
Coming up on August 2nd, I'll be doing radio shows, podcasts, streams, interviews, reviews, etc for 13 years. I went from someone who never talked to someone who tries to do what you described. It means a lot hearing you say that.
Absolutely crushing album
So good!
Awesome record
Definitely
Hell yeah!
Wow. Just heard Gehenna Et Tartareum and it's mindblowing. It's more metal than metal itself. If Sabaton, Manowar or Powerwolf go Synthwave, it would sound like this, I guess. Absolutely crushing and epic. Thanks for the uplifting feeling while listening to it💪
Thanks for the review man!
@@BrazenTongue-tl5ce thank YOU for the great music
I'm probably not the best person to say comforting things to you right now, but hang in there, music is a great reason to keep on going with this life. I know it's one of the only things that keeps my head on the surface. Lately I've had some similar thoughts about my life. I'll keep listening to your podcast and other content whenever I can, I really like your way of chatting with musicians. I don't know if you've heard of Bandbond before, but it could be worth checking out. It is a very nice and friendly community of metal music fans. And I feel pretty much the same way as you said about connecting with new people. I really don't know how to talk or write to anyone I haven't met before. Just writing this took me almost an hour and I was just going to delete the whole thing
I really appreciate the kind words and the support. I'm sorry you can relate to my struggles. I wish no one had to. I should loon up bandbond, thanks for the suggestion.
Underrated album that I think many will miss out on
Agreed
I love new music!
I love Lori! I prefered middle of no where thpugh but great the new album is!
And there's nothing wrong with that.
Just seeing your review now. Thanks for your kind words. - Jason (drums) from Uragh
And thank YOU for the great music!
Shumaun sounds worth hearing. Just looking in rateyourmusic, they have 3 previous albums.
You know me, I'm on all of those prog albums! Thank you, my friend :)
You got it! A reminder that The Mourning comes out July 10th. It was moved since I recorded this.
Thank you so much!!! We are glad you loved it!🤘🤘🤘🤘
I truly do. Thank YOU so much for the great music!
Thank you so much, glad that you like it!😎🤘🏻🔥
With every passing listen, I love it more and more. Thank YOU for the great music!
Thank you so much for the kind words! 🤘
Thank YOU for the great music!
Amazing album, Malignancy never disappoints 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's true!
You sound like someone who'd be more into yacht rock.
Well thank you for thinking I'm more rich than I actually am.
Dude this is a hidden gem of an interview.
I'm glad you found it. Thank you
@@HeavyDebriefings Thank you for doing it!!
Starcade is still Open! I went there last week on my Birthday. I talked to 1 of the employees and he said they plan to at least be open through the Summer at least. It was a lot of fun and nostalgic. I am hoping to go back again at least 1 more time this Summer.
on In Absentia and The Metal Faerie, I'm not surprised she wasn't too into most of it. Thde KS95 comparison? I guess I would relate the riff in Blackest Eyes more to like a Creed or something (an online friend who used to go out of his way to criticize PT, used to compare Blackest Eyes to Creed if I remember correctly). KS95 to me has always been sort of Family Pop/Rock and heavy on 80's stuff. Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"..and then Phil Collins stuff. In recent years, I suppose they're more 90's and 2000's "Family Pop/Rock" which The Rembrandt's "I'll Be There For You" does fit that. She may have done/do better with Fear of a Blank Planet, or actually my pick would have been Deadwing. Deadwing I think has the right blend of atmosphere, melody and heavyness, without the lyrics been so downer (see FOABP). But a lot of In Absentia fits that blend as well, I just think Deadwing did it better overall. And it does include the guitar solo from Mikael Akerfeldt on Arriving Somewhere But Not Here. But She may find it too similar to In Absentia and why FOABP would be a better 2nd record to check out, if she does check another album from PT out at all. I would check out songs like Arriving Somewhere But Not Here and Lazarus (even though it's a ballad) regardless though.
Thanks so much for the review! Mentioned back to back with Kvaen no less. Their new album CRUSHES.
It certainly does. But so does yours. Thank you for the great music.
Thank you for chatting with us!
Thank YOU for taking the time. And for the great music.
Awesome!
yeah I still do like Biffy Clyro. Their last album was quite good, sort of a comeback. Also it doesn't hurt Mike Vennart formerly of Oceansize, is a touring member. Porcupine Tree next week for The Metal Faerie?..that should be interesting.
I know you've shown me albums in the past. I can't name them, but I still remember it happening. I'm so curious on PT next week. I'll never get her in the poppy, psychedelic, or electronic stuff, but maybe the prog metal side will work.
Sunburst is back and better than ever!
Of the two albums, this is much stronger and in the right direction.
Narrator sounds like the guy in charge of stock at CVS 😅
So I sound like someone with a job?
It's killer!!!
Indeed
Thank you! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank YOU for the great music!
Awesome interview with great questions and answers from AV. Ive just gotten into them through Black Blood so ive got the whole back catalogue to enjoy.
Such an incredible band. Thank you for checking this out.
Grain of Pain was a really awesome surprise when I heard the first single a while back. And it's great to hear Lars doing some vocals again after Before the Dawn. Had to get the CD from Bandcamp after first listen
Agreed on all fronts.
I love Songs the night sings... Pallbearer is just as beautiful. Hope to see more of you Anette 🙂
Yo thanks for checking it out! We don't know how to describe it either, but we're havin fun doin it. Ha!
And that's what matters. Thank you for the great music!
Killer album !!
Totally agree!
Thank you for the interview! It's so cool and real of them to incorporate a fan's idea into songwriting. Can't wait to hear the whole album 🤘
Thank you for checking this out. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's well worth the wait
hey Josh, just wondering if you and the Metal Faerie have ever entertained the idea of getting a Pet? I know most apartments don't allow dogs and most don't allow cats, but maybe others like Birds or Hamsters? Fish? Lizards even? I wonder if having a pet to take care of could help give you (and The Metal Faerie) reason to take care of something (or someone so to speak). I know for myself, having responsibility of my Cats always helps me as they can be quite comforting.
There is a multitude of reasons that can't be done in the present time.
